Thank you to everyone who responded to the Board’s request for feedback on the proposal to extend Rev. Alex’s interim contract. The Board heard you loud and clear and voted to enter into a new contract with Rev. Alex for a two-year duration, with a one-year check-in to confirm that the arrangement continues to be mutually beneficial.
We have a lot of work to do over the next two years. Priorities include leadership development, a newly structured social justice program, improved financial stewardship planning, and a continuation in the growth of our small group ministries. We’ll need your help to be successful. Consider what connects you to Westside and how you can be a part of strengthening that aspect of our congregation.
Speaking of finances, this year’s stewardship committee has done a fantastic job pulling together the annual campaign. We are really close to attaining our overall pledge goal for the budget. Among other things, this budget includes increases to fund the staff retirement program equitably and to pay for health care insurance for the church administrator position to make it equitable with our other staff positions. Recognizing the worth and dignity of our staff is right in alignment with our UU values. Please consider increasing your pledge by an amount that would be meaningful to you — even $1 a week or $1 a month would make a big difference.
