Greetings:
JIGLPETs are a fun away to remember our UU Values: Justice, Interdependence, Generosity, Love, Pluralism, Equity and Transformation but do you know where they come from?
They come from us: input from more than 10,000 UUs, from years of discerning, work, listening sessions, discussions, and many drafts encouraging inspirational, poetic, creative language. You can read my 2024 report on the UUA bylaw change here.
Later that summer, I was listening the VUU a UU Talk Show that featured Rev. Cheryl M. Walker and they were talking about how to remember our UU values. Rev. Cheryl said what about JIGLPET and I was so excited!
I took my excitement and designed, drew, and made the JIGLPET hand sewing pattern and JIGLPET zine. It has been my joy to continue to teach children, teens and adults how to make them. I love sharing them with UUs and have been sharing the pattern and zine with UUs at regional and national gatherings.
I hope you can join us this Sunday November 16 for All Congregation RE which will include optional JIGLPETs making lesson from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm in the Social Hall.
In gratitude,
Leilani
