Talk about ‘Love In Action’ (this year’s Auction theme) — that’s what I feel as I serve on the Board of Trustees. Wow! What a dynamic, blood pumping experience it is to sit at the center of the WSUU universe, with all the planets and moons swirling in their orbits, each with their exciting activities and agendas. Who knew what a well-kept secret it is to serve on the Board?

For instance, did you know we are updating some of our safety practices to better respond to situations that might come up on a Sunday morning? So very proactive!! I am feeling very grateful that I belong to a community that holds LOVE at its center and puts it into action in all these important ways. Aren’t you?

Have you seen the new print calendars of events posted all over the place recently — even in the bathrooms??  Aren’t they great?  You have Laura White and Shannon to thank for putting those together.  I love them.

You know what else I love — our new Greeters Team Leader, Elizabeth.  Her smile never fails to brighten my morning!  The Board gives Joan Whitely a big shout out of gratitude for her many years of service to the Greeters Team.

The Evergreen Room is shaping up nicely — have you been in to see it yet?  Second floor, where Shannon’s office used to be. Check it out!  You may want to hold a group meeting in there sometime.

Lastly — more Love In Action — The Board’s report to the congregation at our Mid-Year Meeting has been scheduled for Jan 25, 2026.  Be there to hear about our financial health, our goals for the Board for this year, and many other topics relevant to the beating heart of this church.

I have never been more aware that the life of a church is made up of all the ways each individual chooses to get involved, serve and volunteer.  It is a marvelous thing to experience!
