Board Update for January 2026

HAPPY NEW YEAR from your Board of Trustees!

Often part of preparing for a new year is to reflect upon the past year year for inspiration. Looking back at 2025, we can be inspired by our work and celebrations. Both the Board and congregation embraced the values outlined in our Living Covenant…love, justice, trust and inclusion. We adopted the Pathways to Reconnection and Repair. By affirming these statements we clarified how we live, worship and play together as a congregation. This powerful, meaningful work will impact our growing community for years, we should be proud!

Last year’s successful auction and stewardship campaign allowed us to offer Rev. Carter a three-year contract, repair the door to the church and enhance the narthex. Our committees met the moment through their targeted work, from welcoming visitors, linking to new members, nurturing the children and more. Again, congregational action demonstrates our commitment and connect ion to our beloved community.

What will 2026 bring to Westside? What new habits will we develop and practice? How will we celebrate each other? The Year of the Horse is upon us. A year associated with dynamic energy, increased social interactions, and personal growth through persistence.  Will these characteristics be observed in our future, in 2026?

May 2026 bring us more kindness, boundless joy, and the courage to live with an awakened heart as we step mindfully into the year together.

Warmly,

Cindy Jackson, representing the Board of Trustees
