Ground Hog Day

Give me five shows Groundhog

Greetings:

Have you ever seen a ground hog? Once when I was hiking in the mountains I saw and heard marmots but they’re different than the one groundhog I spotted while visiting my spouse’s family in Illinois.

On social media, I follow a famous groundhog named Chunk. If you do a search in your favorite search engine or on YouTube for Chunk the Groundhog, you can learn about him, his family, and their adventures.

Chunk had been helping himself to Jeff Permar’s garden, and instead of trying to get rid of Chunk, Jeff decided to lean into co-existence. What might we learn from Chunk and Jeff?

I mentioned at Youth Group last weekend about how I like to occasionally reset the content that the internet algorithms send me with intentional searches on cute animals. This helps give my nervous system a little break as then I get to look at baby tapirs and baby armadillos like our recent additions at Point Defiance Zoo.

This Sunday in RE, our special activity will be related to Ground Hog Day, the time halfway between winter and spring.
