Greetings:

I love Westside’s tradition of wearing fun hats to Easter service for our annual congregational photo. I might have worn my favorite green wig and antenna the last couple of years because it feels so much like spring energy to me!
Besides pondering my spring outfit for Easter Spring Sunday service, I’m thinking about what we will have for dinner on Parents/Caregivers Night Out this Saturday, April 4th, 5:00 – 7:00 pm.
Parents/Caregivers Night Out is a no-cost, child drop-off event. Adults sign in their children with me in the Social Hall. Then you will have two free hours to go and do what you want while your children have a light dinner and a play-centered evening with games, helping to cook dinner, and arts & crafts. We would like RSVPs to dre@wsuu.org so we know how to plan for the meal and about any dietary allergies or sensitivities.
On Sunday, we have a special multigenerational Easter Spring Worship Service with music, song, and ritual. We will have a participatory Time for All Ages activity/story with puppets and play silks, and we will be featuring a craft table in the back of the sanctuary with fun children’s Easter Spring crafts. This service is for all ages, meaning there will be no separate RE classroom activity, and the children will stay for the service.
We hope you and your family will join us and wear silly hats, or even your favorite Easter bonnet! We will have some fun hats available in case you forget yours or need a few more hats for family. We will have our usual coffee hour downstairs in the Social Hall after the service.
In gratitude,
Leilani Davenberry
