2019-01-27 12:00 2019-01-27 14:00 America/Los_Angeles Environmental Justice for 2019 -Climate Change, Legislation, Key Actions and WSUU Priorities

The Westside Environmental Justice Group will be meeting on January 27th after the Sunday service at 12:00 in the sanctuary. We will be joined by David Perk, a leader with 350Seattle,  who will be talking about environmental legislation and some big actions in WA state that we can expect in 2019. All are welcome at this meeting. We also will be talking about Westside’s environmental justice priorities for the upcoming year. If you are interested in learning more about how to get involved with social justice work at Westside focused on climate change and other environmental challenges we face, this would be a good meeting to attend. Please contact John Fawcett-Long (jfawcettlong@gmail.com) or Anne Miller (annemiller2733@gmail.com) with any questions. FYI – The Westside UU Social Justice Council coordinates the social justice efforts of the congregation in recognition of the need to work together for the common good and against all forms of systemic oppression. We do this compassionately through communication, education and action on issues that threaten the attainment of justice, health, and well-being of people and the planet. The Westside Environmental Justice Group is supported by and coordinates with the Social Justice Council. Also, please join Westside members at the  the Environmental Priorities Coalition Lobby Day on January 29th. You will be one of hundreds of activists pushing for key environmental legislation in Olympia! To officially register, please go here.
