I want to share the powerful experience drawing has in my daily life. Finding Your Line is an engaged drawing workshop. This 4-week course explores drawing as an expressive resource for self-discovery and self-care in a troubled world. Finding Your Line provides an opportunity for you to tap into your expressive abilities through drawing in a safe, judgment-free space. It’s not about making a pretty picture. It’s about finding your life-line, your story-line, your visual-voice, through drawing. Each session begins with a centering, guided meditation that helps you to align your emotions and creative impulse. After meditating you’ll draw: document your life journey, tell your story, envision a positive future, and have fun making a beautiful mess! After drawing we’ll share our work with one another, discuss the process, and explore the meaning of the images you made. You’ll finish the workshop with a portfolio of work, a visual atlas – guiding you forward to a regular creative practice. During the course of this workshop, you’ll begin finding and releasing your authentic self through drawing. Leader/Facilitator: Mark MacKay Contact: mr.mark.mackay@gmail.com Day/Dates: Thursdays, January 17, 24, 31; and February 7 Time: 7:00–8:30 p.m. Location: Social Hall Class Limit: 8 people Registration Deadline: Monday, January 14 Bring your own materials: Charcoal, Pastels, Pencils, Large Drawing Pad
