Join this worship service on our YouTube Channel at 10:30 am on Sunday, September 27 “To preach the gospel of love, love, love” goes the refrain from John Murray Sails, our anthem today. This week is the 250th anniversary of that fateful time when the Universalist message and audience came together. It’s a beautiful message, that heart of our Universalist heritage which says that all souls shall be redeemed, that all are worthy of the kin-dom of God. It is, in many ways, the foundation of our contemporary First Principle. In that time and in all our days since we have continued to struggle with the great demand that this message places upon us – to build a bigger boat, to set a wider table, to heal the many wounds of the days when Thomas Potter built that house that echo still into this day. How are we working to build a life, a congregation, a community that preaches a gospel of love? How are we working to be part of the change we want to see in the world? Order of Service Prelude: John Hansen Ringing of the Bell Call to Community: Sanctuary Invitation and Opening Words Chalice Lighting & Congregational Affirmation: Steve Finney Hymn: #95 There is More Love Somewhere Time for All Ages: Leilani Davenberry Singing the Children Out Offering: One-third of our weekly plate collection for the month of September will be given to the Building Changes’ Washington State Student and Youth Homelessness COVID-19 Response Fund. Building Changes is raising and distributing funds to help organizations, schools, and local tribes meet needs that may otherwise be difficult to fulfill or sustain without additional assistance.
