Help Identify 2024 General Assembly Delegates for WSUU

General Assembly (GA) is the annual meeting of our Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA). Participants worship, witness, learn, connect, and make policy for the Association through democratic process. It will be held Thursday June 20 through Sunday, June 23 and it will be online only.

Anyone may attend! Delegates vote on our behalf, but everyone is encouraged to attend GA! Information about financial aid can be found here.

Our GA Delegate Policy charges the Nominating Committee with presenting the congregation with a slate of delegates to vote on.

This policy has the aim of being inclusive! This is because Westside is offering financial and logistical support to delegates. We love and appreciate those who have historically been leaders at Westside and we want to keep making that table bigger!

Another benefit of the Delegate Policy is that delegates are asked to communicate with our congregation before GA – to let us know what is on the agenda, and to hear about what is important to us. They are also asked to report back to us after GA – to let us know what is happening with the UUA and other congregations, and to let us know the outcomes of the various business items they voted on.

Our congregation may send up to 4 voting delegates. Ideally, our delegates will be a mix of new and returning delegates, serving overlapping two-year terms. Kerrie Schurr, Cindy Jackson, Cynthia Townsend, and Leilani Davenberry served in 2023. Kerry Lusignan served as an alternate delegate. We are so grateful to all of our past delegates for representing our community at GA!

We will vote for a slate of delegates (from those nominated) once we have nominations closed.
